Certified vineyards in champagne
Our terroir lies in the heart of the Vallée de la Marne, on the right bank, the most extensive area of Champagne, covering the communes of Cuchery, Baslieux-sous-Châtillon, Belval, Damery and Châtillon-sur-Marne. Our domaine is composed of around 100 different plots, most of which are south-facing. Our vineyards have obtained the “High Environmental Value – level 3” (HVE) and “Sustainable Viticulture in Champagne” certifications. The soils in the Vallée de la Marne are primarily clay-limestone with a marl tendancy.
Born in Cuchery, Benjamin is a dedicated winemaker who is eager to share his passion for his work. He strives to bring out the distinctive characteristics of his vineyards, which are predominantly planted with the Meunier grape variety, famous for its vigour and rusticity. The terroir expresses itself in the glass while the care given to the vineyards is reflected in the House’s style.
Well-tended plots
The vineyards of Champagne Beurton & Fils are cultivated according to the principles of sustainable viticulture. Benjamin plays with the unique composition of his soils and the age of his vines to craft his champagnes. Therefore, even when the plots are grouped together in the same area, Benjamin adapts his techniques to suit the needs of each individual plot. An in-depth analysis of the soil type combined with a meticulous examination of each plot enables him to determine the growing techniques: either full or partial grassing coupled with ploughing.
The soils at Champagne Beurton & Fils are constantly cared for and monitored. The age of the vines and the soil composition determine the potential of the future wines. Sampling and tasting the fruit and juices arbitrate which plots will stand out with their exceptional qualities.
